Top 25 Marijuana Edible Recipes

Sometimes consuming cannabis the old fashioned way can get a little boring, so that’s why we created this list of 25 marijuana edible recipes. Included is everything from basic ingredients to incorporate into your favorite recipes to a few more complex cannabis-focused dishes. Next time you’re craving something that will both taste great and make you feel great, try out one of the recipes compiled below.

Cooking with cannabis generally requires some sort of oil, butter or milk because THC is fat-soluble rather than water-soluble. This is why you will see many of these recipes call for cannaoil, cannabutter and/or marijuana milk. We’ve included the recipes for these basic ingredients so that you can virtually turn any recipe into a delicious cannabis-infused treat.

In order for THC to properly be used by the body, aka in order to get high, the cannabis will need to be decarboxylated before it can be used in an edible recipe. To do this, simply heat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Spread the cannabis evenly over a baking or cookie sheet. Bake for roughly 35-40 minutes and remove. Let cool, then grind into a course powder. Decarboxylated weed will actually last for up to two months if placed in a cool, dark place in an airtight container. Be very careful to not let the marijuana overheat, as the potency can be negatively affected.

  • Cannaoil

Cannaoil is one of the most basic marijuana based recipes. All you’ll need is two cups of oil and six grams of cannabis. (Obviously you can make more or less, but keep this ratio.) You can use whatever kind of oil you’d like but the healthiest options are olive and coconut. Simply heat the oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add your decarboxylated cannabis and cook. Make sure the temperature doesn’t go over 200°F (93°C). Cook for about 45 minutes. Then remove the oil from the heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Next, strain the product through a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth. You can press the product with a spoon to extract as much oil as possible. Place the oil in an airtight container and store it in the fridge. Your cannaoil will stay good for up to eight weeks.

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 cups oil – You can use whatever kind of oil you’d like but the healthiest options are olive and coconut.
  • 6 grams cannabis
  • Cannabutter

Cannabutter is made exactly the same as cannaoil. Simply replace the oil in the previous recipe for one pound of butter. It will cook the same as oil and will also stay good for eight weeks in the fridge provided it’s in an airtight container.

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 cups butter
  • 6 grams cannabis
  • Marijuana Milk

Another simple recipe done exactly the same as the cannaoil and cannabutter recipes. Replace the oil/butter for two cups of whole milk or heavy cream. Remember, THC is fat-soluble so skim and low-fat milk simply won’t work the same. The milk will keep in the fridge for several weeks if it’s in an airtight container.

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 cups whole milk or heavy cream
  • 6 grams cannabis

  • Cannasugar

Cannasugar is another simple ingredient that is easy to substitute in any recipe calling for sugar. You will need three grams of cannabis, 1/2 cup of Everclear (any high-proof alcohol will work) and 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Heat the oven to 200°F (93°C). Put your decarboxylated weed in a jar and cover it with the alcohol. Screw the lid on as tight as possible and shake the contents every five minutes for 20 minutes. After this is done, strain the product through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth and discard the remaining solids. Mix the cannabis infused alcohol with the sugar and spread the mixture evenly in a glass 9”x13” baking dish. Place the dish in your preheated oven, stirring occasionally. Bake the product until the sugar is a light golden color and the alcohol has evaporated completely.

Ingredients needed:

  • 1/2 cup of Everclear (any high-proof alcohol will work)
  • 3 grams cannabis
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Cannabis Fries

This is basically your traditional fried potato recipe, but better. All you need is four tablespoons cannaoil and four thinly sliced baby red potatoes. Simply preheat some cannaoil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Don’t turn the heat too high, otherwise the THC content can be negatively affected. Once the cannaoil is heated up, add your sliced up potatoes. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping potatoes occasionally to ensure they are evenly cooked. Once the potatoes are thoroughly cooked, remove from heat and enjoy with your favorite sauce and seasonings.

Ingredients needed:

  • 4 tablespoons cannaoil
  • 4 thinly sliced baby red potatoes
  • “Special” Brownies

Arguably the most common cannabis-infused recipe, these “special” brownies will have you feeling good for several hours. Plus, they’re delicious too! You will need four ounces unsweetened chocolate, 3/4 cup cannabutter, 1 3/4 cups sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, two teaspoons vanilla extract, three large eggs and 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a glass 9”x13” baking dish. Next, melt the chocolate either in the microwave or in a double boiler. Add the cannabutter to the melted chocolate and mix until combined. Then mix in the sugar, salt and vanilla. Next, add the eggs one at a time until they are fully mixed in as well. Mix in the flour last. Pour the batter into the greased dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool slightly and cut into even pieces. Store in the fridge for several weeks or freeze for up to several months.

Ingredients needed:

  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 3/4 cup cannabutter
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • Parmesan & Garlic Cannabis Pasta

This easy and tasty cannabis infused pasta recipe is great for satisfying all your carb and marijuana cravings. You will need one package of angel hair pasta, four tablespoons cannabutter, seven cloves of finely chopped garlic and a 3/4 cup of parmesan cheese. You can also add salt and pepper to taste once you’re finished. Begin by heating up the cannabutter a saucepan over medium-low heat. Again, don’t go too high with the heat to preserve the THC content. Once the butter is melted, add in the garlic. Sauté until the garlic is lightly browned or for roughly three to five minutes. Remove the pan from heat and set aside, letting the garlic continue to absorb the cannabutter. Next, grab a small pot and bring some salted water to a boil. Add the pasta into the water and stir it until it is soft. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it but set aside 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Put the pasta back in the pot you cooked it in and add the garlic/cannabutter mixture and any seasoning you like. Combine the ingredients well and then add the cheese and the 1/2 cup pasta water, mixing them in slowly. Add more cheese to taste if you’d like. Voila!

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 package angel hair pasta
  • 4 tablespoons cannabutter
  • 7 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cannabis Vodka

This recipe takes a little bit more equipment, but the result is cannabis-infused vodka and who doesn’t want that? The recommended dosage is roughly 3.5 grams of cannabis per 750 milliliters of vodka. For this recipe you will need a one-liter heat resistant whipped cream whipper, two nitrous oxide chargers, a double boiler, a measuring glass (pyrex, preferably), a cheesecloth, a metal strainer and a thermometer. Begin by pouring the alcohol into the whipper. If you prefer to make a smaller amount, measure out 250 milliliters of vodka and about 1.16 grams of cannabis. Add the cannabis into the whipper as well. Attach one nitrous charger to the whipper and release the gas. Unscrew the first charger, replace with the second charger and release the gas again. Let the whipper sit for a minute or two before opening. Next, grab the double boiler and heat water in the lower part to about 200°F (93°C). Pour the infused alcohol into the top part. Simmer the alcohol at this temperature in the top of the double boiler for roughly 45 minutes. Do not be alarmed when the amount of liquid is reduced. You will add more vodka at the end to return the concoction to its original volume. Remove the pot after 45 minutes and set aside. Set up your metal strainer over your glass measuring cup. Place the cheesecloth into the strainer. Pour the mix into the strainer to remove any remaining solids. Add more vodka until the volume is back to the original amount you used. Use this as a base in all of your favorite cocktails.

Ingredients needed:

  • 5 grams cannabis/750 milliliters vodka
